Your First Visit: If you are planning to visit The Church of the Ascension for the first time, here is information that you might find helpful.
Where is the Church? Ascension is located in east Twin Falls in the middle of the soccer fields at 371 Eastland Drive North. We are a mile south of the LDS Temple and a quarter mile north of K-Mart.
What do I need to wear? Dress comfortably. While some people dress up, most wear casual and comfortable clothing on Sunday. Weekday groups are always casual. Don't worry about it, just come and experience our friendly faces and warm welcome.
When do I need to arrive? We have two Sunday services: 8:00am and 10:00am. Plan to arrive about five minutes before the service starts.
What can I expect during the Worship? You will be greeted at the door and receive a bulletin that will help guide you through the service. Both services use the (red) Book of Common Prayer. 8:00am has instrumental piano music. At the 10:00am worship you will find a blend of traditional/contemporary music, hymn singing plus special music selections from our choir. When an invitation is made to come to the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion, please know that you are welcome to receive.
What about my children? We take the safety and security of your child very seriously. Childcare is provided by a professional, trained staff from 9:00am until the end of the 10:00am service. Parents may wish to get children from the nursery before Communion and bring them to the altar for a blessing.
Is there Sunday School? School age children are invited to attend Sunday School during the regular school year and all children are invited and encouraged to attend worship services.
Join us for Coffee Hour after the worship. We continue our fellowship after the 10:00am worship service in the Parish Hall with a time of coffee and refreshments provided by members of the congregation. Please join us. The coffee hour is a good time to find out more about the Church of the Ascension. We also encourage you to tour the building.
